Education
I am a graduate of the Potomac Massage Training Institute. It is one of the oldest massage schools in the mid-Atlantic region, with a rigorous program that leads students to a professional life as a massage therapist. I continue to be involved with PMTI through their alumni association, teaching business seminars and producing the alumni newsletter.
I am certified in pregnancy massage. Kate Jordan's seminars approach the concerns of the pregnant, laboring, and postpartum woman with a comprehensive program of advanced massage techniques and specific pregnancy, labor, and postpartum support measures. Sessions taught take therapists far beyond general adaptations of massage for the pregnant body. Students learn to competently and confidently address the specific structural, physiological, and psychological discomforts of pregnancy.
I am certified in geriatric massage. Day-break Geriatric Institute is the leading provider of training in geriatric massage in the U.S. The Institute encourages and teaches the use of skillful hands-on work to make life more enjoyable for the elderly by helping them to maintain their health and often to regain physical capabilities that seemed lost forever.
