Seminars and Workshops

In addition to providing massage therapy, I also lead seminars and workshops related to healthy living and the business of massage therapy. If you are interested in a workshop but it is not currently scheduled anywhere, contact me and we will discuss when it can be offered.

Where We Work

This seminar for massage therapists examines 6 common settings in which we work, including spas, outcalls, and private practice.

Massage for the Pregnant Pair

This workshop is for the general public. This workshop will focus on the areas where partners and friends can easily offer comfort and relaxation to the pregnant person - the neck, back, hips, hands and feet.

The work will be done fully clothed.

Surviving Your Desk Job

This workshop is for the general public.

The workshop will help you understand why it's not your "bad" habits that's making you hurt, it's the *@&$% desk (and computer)! Since, however, you're likely to have to continue to work at a desk, with a computer, we'll spend a significant amount of time learning the tricks and habits that can keep you comfortable in your desk job.

Helping Your Clients Survive Their Desk Jobs

This seminar is for massage therapists. It examines the dynamics of the body's response to prolonged exposure to desk work and computers. It will examine what we are likely to find in our client's bodies because of this kind of work and what we may be able to do to help them.

Credit Cards for Massage Therapists

This seminar is for massage therapists considering accepting credit cards as a form of payment. When does it benefit your practice to accept them? When can you live without them? If you want to accept them, what are your options? How do you evaluate the contracts? What are the costs?

Tech Tools for the Non-Technical

This seminar is for massage therapists. It introduces them to three common technology tools that may be useful to you and to your businesses: cell phones, PDAs ("palm pilots") and ISPs (internet service). We'll talk about when they'll be useful and when an MT can live happily without them. I'll also explain how to shop for them.
